Week 1-Challenge Recap

Challenge: Make as many friends as possible.

The challenge for Week 1 was to see who could make the most friends. Everyone became acquaintances by the end of Day 1, but few became actual friends. The challenge room was compromised of numerous foosball tables to aid in fun, and the backyard held a playground and a fire pit. All of these items were non-skill gaining, but helped in bringing people together. Friends were made, feelings were hurt, and strange personalities emerged. Here is this week's recap:

Room Design

This is a mini-challenge, with no winners, that occurred on the first day. Each pair of roommates was told to design their space.
Rules:
1. You can change: wall color, furniture color, bedclothes
2. You cannot: move the furniture, add new furniture otherwise those specified below, remove the furniture, get new flooring
3. You may add: lamps, rugs, wall decorations

Richard and Scott:
Their room changed from drab and unfriendly to a vibrant color scheme. They chose vibrant yellow bedspreads with deep red sheets. They made the furniture a light brown color, and added a mirrored corner and some pictures. The walls are covered in a yellow-striped wallpaper, and their rug is actually lattice wood, showing their unique style.

Pearl and Bonnie:
Their room changed from a neutral, dull tone to a whimsical, warm environment. Their bedspreads feature a circular design, and the wood is dark. This combined with the matching orange and brown rugs create a relaxing environment. The lamps beside their head and the paintings on the wall add to the stylistic flair that shows through in their personalities.

Nathan and Thomas:
Their boring room was transformed into a breezy, colorful scene. Their green zebra-striped bedspreads, sky blue walls, and giraffe portrait gives the feeling of a happy home. Their fuzzy rug and funky lamps also adds to the feel-good aura that the room gives off.

Claire and Dana:
This gloomy and lifeless room was changed into a feminine wonderland, with the bright pinks and purples. The room is toned down a bit with the dark periwinkle of the rug and the light wood of the furniture. The paintings on the wall tie into the color scheme very well, and the light color of the wall really highlights the colorful bedspreads.

The House

The house that the contestants are staying at has a clean-cut, neutral feel. There are 4 double bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a deluxe suite (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living area), a full-sized kitchen, a 9-person living room with a fireplace, and an 8-person dining room. There are hardwood floors throughout, and the walls are mostly white.
The big challenge area in the middle will be transformed each week, suited to the particular challenge. This also applies to the challenge area in the backyard. Unless there is a challenge going on outside, the backdoor will be locked to everyone except the Head of Household (HoH). This is because the HoH is staying in the deluxe suite, which only he/she has access to. The HoH does not have access to the backyard area, unless a challenge is going on there.
The bathrooms will not be redecorated, but the first challenge (not a weekly challenge) will be for the contestants to design their living space. Also, the deluxe suite bedroom will be decorated according to who is currently residing there.
The Interview Room will be used to conduct the interviews.

Meet the Contestants

It's time to meet the contestants!

Overview

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Sims 3 Big Brother!
I've had the Sims 3 since 2009, and I have become a bit bored with the game. So, I decided to browse the Internet and came upon a challenge, called the Big Brother Challenge, based on the popular reality show Big Brother. I have never seen this show, so I did a little research and I really like the format, so I decided to make a show of my own, loosely based on Big Brother and the Big Brother Challenge. I'm calling it Sims Big Brother.
The basic premise of my show goes like this: there are 8 contestants, living together in a modest house, with no modern technology besides a microwave. Each week, a specific challenge is set out. On Wednesday of that week, the contestant who has the most progress becomes the Head of Household, and he picks the nominees to be evicted (since they can't think, it will be the Sims with the lowest challenge status) and on Sunday, everyone "votes" on who should be evicted (the Sim with the least relationship status to them). This continues until the last week, where one victor will remain standing.
In the event of a tie, special challenges will ensue.
